Planning Power Production and Consumption

A successful presence on the energy market is based on the ability to know one's energy needs and to be familiar with the market. The goal of planning is to provide sufficiently accurate estimates of one's energy demands. When mapping electricity needs of an enterprise, it is necessary to take into account changing technological conditions of production, such as production facility downtimes, changes in product range, scheduled repairs etc. The system of electricity metering and a database of quality power data in particular are an essential source of information for takeoff planning. SELT uses Energy Data Archive (EDA) for this purpose. It is an archive of energy data optimised for very effective processing of huge amounts of data compiled into time sequences. A huge amount refers to more than 500,000 vectors containing energy data for the last three years.

SELT provides forecasting and consumption prediction tools to prepare operation plans and these tools can be used to work out relatively accurate take-off diagrams. IN addition to historical data, forecasting models utilise information on seasons of the year, temperature, type of the day and so on. The prediction system is built on base of neural networks, it is a self-learning and decision-making tree that determines the final forecast and it can be modified by the user. The forecasts can be displayed graphically and they can be used in further work. Qualified users can modify and set parameters of the systems. In terms of time, the forecasts are long-term (years, months), mid-term (weeks) and short-term (day, hour) ones. SELT is an open solution able to work with other power systems (such as SKEI (Systém Komplexných Energetických Informácií), various metering systems, power central control, power stock exchange, system operator, other traders), providing validated information for preparing a quality Day Load Diagram (DDZ) even at the planning stage. Of course, the system facilitates preparation of plans in different intervals of time (daily, weekly, monthly, annually).

SELT offers also multiple options in relation to trade diagrams (trading at contracted values, deviation, support services (PpS),…). If clients have their own resources available, SELT is a very useful (and successfully used) tool for planning electricity generation .
